Developmental
educators have devoted their careers to teaching the
skills needed for college success. Yet our jobs involve
so much more than skill-building. According to the
National Center of Developmental Education, "The
field of developmental education supports the academic
and personal growth of under-prepared college students
through instruction, counseling, advising, and
tutoring." To that end, in order to develop as
professionals in our field, we need to continually learn
more ways to broaden and improve our ability to reach
more students and teach
them effectively. |
