The purpose of DEAM’s News & Info page is to provide those who have a vested interest in developmental education, particularly in Maryland, to learn about great ideas from their peers as well as important decisions that may be made by the State Legislature regarding developmental education. It will also include information about upcoming events, such as the DEAM Spring 2012 Conference and others as we gather information to post.
We invite our membership to submit information to be shared via our website in order to reach as many who are involved with developmental education in the state of Maryland as possible.

Accelerated Learning Program:
The Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) of The Community College of Baltimore County welcomes proposals for its 4th annual conference on Acceleration in Developmental Education. While themes include writing, reading, integrated reading and writing, mathematics, and ESOL, please feel free to include any other relevant areas.
Hosted at the beautiful Tremont Hotel in downtown Baltimore, near the Inner Harbor, the conference will provide an opportunity share ideas on acceleration with your colleagues.
On June 6th, we have scheduled a series of pre-conference workshops. The conference itself will be held on June 7th and 8th. We are excited this year to announce Dr. Martha J. Kanter and Dr. Gail O. Mellow as plenary speakers.
